Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care needs within the parish of Holy Advent are tended to by a group of ladies who are blessed with the gift of caring – caring for the needs of those experiencing sickness or other hardship in their daily lives. Whether one is dealing with a broken finger, a diagnosis of a life-threatening disease, or the loss of a loved one, or if advancing years are just making day-to-day living a challenge, the Pastoral Care group is ‘tuned in’ to finding ways to lend a hand.

Types of pastoral care:

  • Arranging delivery of home communion and visits to those unable to get to church

  • Transportation for those in need

  • Arranging for meal deliveries

  • Providing Prayer Shawls
The Holy Advent Cares Fund provides financial assistance to local persons for their energy needs.

Prayer Shawls carry your prayers and are a warm and welcome comfort to people in time of need.
(If you are interested in making a prayer shawl, the instructions for knitting or crocheting are available in the tract rack at the rear of the church or by clicking here).
